Hi folks. Sorry to say that our dearly beloved computer finally had it.  After 8 years and numerous patches, fixes, and even a minor rebuild, the ol' thing is dead. The good news is that I've quickly gotten a new computer which I'm getting up to speed as fast as I can. Unfortunately, modern advances have left some of our sound equipment in the dust. So, now I have to get a new mixer that has a USB plug and also I have to retrieve the latest recordings from the hard drive of the dead computer.  All in all, it means that the show is in hiatus for a week or so until I can get it all back up and running.  Please stay with us. We will keep The Eclectic Review going. It's been a tumultuous bunch of months lately and this is just the icing on the cake, but The Eclectic Review is dear to us and we will not let it fade away. If we don't get up and running before December is out, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year, and we look forward to entertaining you real soon!

Take care all.

Hey folks! We're working on more and more shows for you with some cool things on the way. But, as luck would have it, we both got sick this past weekend, and I have some appearances I have to do this week. So, no new shows this week or next week. But when we come back, we'll be talking about Cats and Dogs, Medicine, Education, Space, and lots more. See you in 2 weeks!

Yup, the aforementioned knee injury is undergoing knee surgery (the rest of me will be along for the ride) this week, so no show again.  Hopefully, we'll have Show #302 next week, but depending on my recovery, we might miss another week.  After that (knock on wood), we'll be back to our regular schedule.

Maybe it was the weight of 300 episodes, maybe it was the alignment of the stars. Whatever the reason, 22 yrs after suffering a stupid knee injury, my knee decided to give out again. The amount of damage and the degree of surgery has yet to be determined, but that info will be figured out in the coming week.  So, we couldn't get a show together this week.  Hopefully we'll be back next week, but if we miss that one too, I apologize.  But don't worry, we will return soon enough.  Until then, don't forget that all our shows are archived over at www.stuartjaffe.com.  So if you missed one of the old ones, now is a great time to catch up!

Thanks for patience everybody.  Things are looking good.  The computer's back up and running.  I managed to get all the important data recovered, and now the sound card is working again.  Unfortunately, it's way too late to get a show put together for tomorrow, but next week WE WILL RETURN!!!!  Hope to see you then!

Just wanted to let you all know what's going on.  The computer has been rebuilt and is mostly working -- except, of course, for the sound card.  Hopefully I can get that running soon and then The Eclectic Review will be back in business.  If not, I'll have to get a new card (and a new mixing board since my old one doesn't support USB (yes, that's how old The Eclectic Review is!) and it's hard to find a sound card with RCA inputs anymore).  So, with any luck, a new show will come out next week.  Without luck, at least two weeks, but please keep checking with us.  We will be back!

Well, it finally happened.  Our main computer died.  It's also the computer we use to record the show, so until I can get it fixed or buy a new one, we're all SOL.  With any luck, we'll only miss next week's show, but I can't promise anything.  Stay tuned!
